About Me
At the time of this writing, I am a senior here at the University of St. Thomas. I grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota, and attended Stillwater Area High School. I decided to attend UST for a few reasons, but specifically because of its strong reputation in the Twin Cities area, its close proximity to my home, and the fact that it’s easy to trek over to Minneapolis on a whim to see a Twins game. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love the Twins.
Why I Joined
My disposition is different from most initiates into our chapter. As a second semester senior, the length of time between my initiation and graduation was expected to be about a month. I thought long and hard about whether I wanted to commit to Sigma Chi, as my focus was on capstones and finding a job. After witnessing first hand the exemplification of character, reciprocity of friendship, and the overall respect these men had for one another, I was motivated to learn how I could become a part of their close-knit community.
How Sigma Chi Has Helped Me
Sigma Chi has helped me in the sense that it has given me a sense of tradition and a sense of community. The rituals of Sigma Chi are a time-honored tradition that I’m privileged to uphold. Its community is a society that I’m excited to be a part of for the rest of my life.
